The City of Globe is accepting applications for a Full Time Fleet Manager for our Public Works Fleet Department. This position is to provide safe, functioning equipment and fleet vehicles to the City of Globe. This position inspects, maintains, and records equipment and fleet vehicles, in addition to maintaining a clean safe drug and alcohol-free work environment. Supervises work crews and facilitates scheduling with other Departments and customer needs. Desired Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent Four years of automotive experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Technical school training in automotive repair is preferred and/or trade certifications are desirable. Must maintain an Arizona Class D driver’s license. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ASE Certified or Vendor Specific Certifications Certified in RTA Fleet or like programs Leadership training and or experience Understanding service manuals and schematic drawings Ability to work as a lead mechanic Certification in major mechanical systems and modern vehicle repair or equivalent Ability to work on diesel engines Certification in brakes, steering, drivability and electrical Systems Customer service, operating and understanding scan tools and electronic diagnostic tools Ability to read and understand manuals and schematics. Both electronic and printed versions Problem solving skills using deductive reasoning Ability to follow direction verbally as well as written Basic welding skills preferred Knowledge and experience with a wide variety of engines, mechanical parts and mechanisms. Experience with mechanical hand tools including wrenches and screwdrivers, pumps, and welders. Experience with air powered tools, jacks and lifting devices such as cranes, pressure washers, drill press. Computer skills Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, City customers, and the general public.
